You only need 4 hair products

I teach my clients that a healthy hair routine does not need to be complicated. For most people, four products are enough: shampoo, conditioner, moisture, and hold. For cleansing and conditioning, I recommend AG Care Balance Shampoo and Boost Conditioner. I like this pair because they contain apple cider vinegar, which helps support shine and a balanced scalp pH—without leaving your hair smelling like ACV. The goal is not to fill your shower with products. It is to understand what each product is supposed to do, use it correctly, and stay consistent.

Not sure whether your current shampoo and conditioner are working for your hair? Bring them to your next appointment. We can talk about what you already own before you buy anything new.

Your moisture product should be chosen according to your hair's texture, density, and the style you are trying to create. I generally work with three AG Care options. Conditioning Mist is the lightest, making it useful when the hair needs moisture without much weight. Re:Coil is my middle option and the one I use most often on clients. Fast Food is the heaviest, and it is what I personally use on my own hair. Then we add hold. For coarser textures and higher-density hair, I often recommend Loma Volumizing Foam. It also happens to be my favorite product of all time—I use it for my own wash-and-go and for twist sets. For  lower density, finer textures, looser curls, and waves, I may choose a gel instead because I feel the gel allows more movement and I am able to scruch more curl in to the hair. There is no single "best" moisturizer or styling product. The right choice depends on your hair and your finished-style goals.

At your next service, ask me which of the three moisture levels and which type of hold makes the most sense for your hair.

Here is the part that surprises some new clients: I usually do not try to sell you a new routine at your first visit. First, I want you to understand what regular maintenance looks like, what your hair needs, and how to properly use the products you already have. If you have products sitting at home, use them. As you finish them, we can replace one item at a time with something that better fits your routine. That gives you time to see what is actually making a difference without wasting money or ending up with ten half-used bottles under the sink. Hair care should be manageable: cleanse, condition, moisturize, hold—and repeat consistently.
